The VCAcademy sees the "IT consolidation" as THE HOT TOPIC of the year 2009!

For this reason we have already started a "consolidation initiative" by the end of last year, which will last over the complete year 2009. The following activities are part of this initiative:

• Workshops with the topic "Data Center Consolidation"
  Till now already 20 workshops have taken place with certified business partners in Austria, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The next half-day- events to this topic will occur already on the 17th and 19th of February (time: 1 pm to 4 pm) in Vienna. • Online campaign on "WirtschaftsBlatt.at" and "DiePresse.com"
  Distributed over the first quarter 2009 Bigesize banners which draw the attention of the reader to the consolidation initiative of the VCAcademy, matching the present economy situation, run alternately on the online portals of the known Austrian business papers (WirtschaftsBlatt and DiePresse). The banner was seen in the first run over 350.000 times. A continuation of the online campaign for the neighboring countries Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic is planned.
  

• THE IT COST SAVINGS INITIATIVE:
  is a consolidation group initiated by us on “xing.com”. New strategic partners of VCAcademy

Since the opening in February 2008 the Virtualization Consolidation Academy has won 27 Business Partners in Austria, Germany, Central- and Eastern Europe.

A certified partner of Prosper Intelligence has the obligation to participate in training of the Virtualization Consolidation Academy and to educate a reasonable number of employees, sales and technical. Prosper Intelligence qualifies partners based on the quality of their skills and puts high value on their intensive contact with responsible consultants, sales and technical persons in VCAcademy.

CiRBA – Release 5.1

Enables Collaborative Enterprise Capacity Management Through a Centralized Capacity Repository and Advanced Analytics.

At the End of January the new version of CiRBA was published – especially for the new capacity management requirements which
where cut to size through virtualization and consolidation strategies. Therefore enterprises get the possibilities to analyse - within the newest
progressive analytics - their enterprise-wide capacity conditions (physically and virtual) and feigning a new consolidation plan if necessary.

ALTOR Virtual Firewall

 Altor 2.0 (beta) features

• Firewall installer is improved to better handle network configuration problems, and assist the user in working around hurdles in the process.
• Added setup "wizard" to walk the user through the initial configuration of the Center, speeding up the installation and avoid setup errors.
• All settings are available from within the Altor UI on 443.  No need for the port 8003 config interface, simplifying setup.
• Non TCP/UDP protocols will be available in the firewall policy (e.g.  GRE, IPSec )
• E-Mail alerts configurable to allow recipient based on rule/alert.
• Added new firewall status view, to more easily show firewall and secured VM state
• To improve scalability for firewall deployments, the network monitoring function can be turned off (configured per firewall).
• Rulebase editor windows better handle large object lists (string match from VM list to make huge lists manageable)
• ESX Console automatically added to VM Tree, for network visibility of ESX connections.  (Previously had to be manually added)
• Internet Explorer 6 will be a fully supported browser.
• Associate connection and log entries with firewall identity, rather than IP address.  (if IP address changes, traffic is still reported correctly)
• Connection / Log screens allow viewing all entries in a time period (rather than truncating at 1000).
